Description
Pseudopanax ferox is a slow growing evergreen tree that can reach a height of 10 meters. It has a distinctive juvenile form with long, toothed leaves that give it a unique appearance. The leaves are initially toothed, dark green to brown in colour, and lance-shaped in the juvenile stage. They often have a light red/brown mid rib running the length of the leaf.
As the plant matures and moves into the adult phase the tree branches at the top and the leaves become smoother and may lose their toothed edges.
Grows well in full sun to partial shade, does best in full sun.
The unique form and foliage of Pseudopanax ferox make it an excellent focal point in a garden.
Plants supplied are in 5cm pots and may average 1-2 years in age.
