Ophiopogon japonicus,  Japanese mondo grass is a clump-forming perennial grass-like plant. It has arching, narrow, strap-like leaves, which usually reach 15 to 20 cm in height.
Flowers are insignificant, usually hidden within the foliage.  Prefers partial to full shade with well-draining soil, enriching with organic matter is beneficial.

Regular, moderate watering is essential, especially during dry periods.

Ophiopogon japonicus is widely used as a ground cover due to its low-growing and spreading habit. Well-suited for borders, edging, or as a contrasting plant in garden beds. Can be grown in containers, adding an attractive element to patios or decks.
