Description
Muehlenbeckia astonii, commonly known as Shrubby Tororaro. This unique and attractive evergreen shrub is characterized by its wiry, interlacing branches and distinctive small, round leaves.
Typically grows as a densely interwoven shrub, reaching a height of 2-3 meters. The plant exhibits a distinctive tiered growth habit, forming a layered structure with multiple branches. Small, glossy, dark green heart shaped leaves which are arranged alternately along the stems.
Inconspicuous greenish-white flowers that appear in late spring or early summer, the flowers are followed by small, translucent berries.
Well-suited to a variety of soil types, including sandy and clayey soils. Thrives in full sun to partial shade, making it adaptable to different garden environments.
These low-maintenance plants that require minimal pruning.
