Description
Juncus edgariae is a perennial grass-like plant native to New Zealand. Wire Rush is characterized by its tufted, fine-textured, and upright growth habit, reaching a height of about 20-30 centimeters. The plant derives its common name from its wiry, slender stems.
This species is often found in wetland areas, including bogs, marshes, and damp meadows. It thrives in both coastal and inland regions, making it well-adapted to a variety of soil conditions.
Generally prefers full sun to partial shade.
It is adaptable to a range of soil types but thrives in moist, well-draining soils. It can tolerate periods of waterlogging. Regular watering is essential, especially during dry periods. It is well-suited to gardens with consistent moisture levels.
