Cupressocyparis leylandii ‘Leighton Green, commonly known as Leighton Green Leyland Cypress, is a versatile evergreen conifer that grows rapidly.

Leighton Green is a fast-growing, hardy tree with a slender, pyramidal shape with deep green foliage.  It can reach up to 15-20m in height and spreads about 4-5m under landscape conditions. Usually pruned to maintain to the desired height and width.  Produces round, brown female cones and ovoid, yellow male cones.

Cupressocyparis leylandii ‘Leighton Green, commonly known as Leighton Green Leyland Cypress, is a versatile evergreen conifer that grows rapidly.

Leighton Green is a fast-growing, hardy tree with a slender, pyramidal shape with deep green foliage.  It can reach up to 15-20m in height and spreads about 4-5m under landscape conditions. Usually pruned to maintain to the desired height and width.  Produces round, brown female cones and ovoid, yellow male cones.

Leighton Green tolerates deer, drought, heat, humidity, pollution, and wind. Ideal for screens, windbreaks, formal hedging.

Choose a sunny to partially shaded location with well-draining soil. Space Leighton Green Leyland Cypress trees according to their mature size
Regular pruning helps maintain a tight hedge or desired height.

It’s cold-hardy and suitable for lower South Island climates.

Tolerates a variety of soils but prefers good drainage. Once established, it can tolerate dry conditions.
