Putaputaweta has small, mottled leaves with a toothy margin and has a zig-zag growth pattern of young twigs. it produces fragrant white flowers in 5 cm panicles in summer.
Putaputaweta thrives in moist broadleaf forests and rocky slopes. and is found across the North Island and northern parts of the South Island.
It adapts well to gardens and grows as a compact, rounded shrub initially, eventually developing into a tree-like form. Will up to 10m in height.
OK in full sun or semi shade.
