Description
Coprosma ‘Flat Freddy’ is a low-growing, native evergreen shrub with a spreading habit.
The foliage is glossy, small, and oval-shaped, creating a dense and compact appearance. The stems are black and grow in an interlaced fashion creating a tight growing flat plant. The leaves are small, narrow, black-green in colour, intensifying in the sunlight.
Typically grows up to 15 to 20cm in height and can spread to 1meter wide.
Coprosma ‘Flat Freddy’ thrives in temperate climates, prefers full sun to partial shade, with more intense leaf colouration occurring in sunnier locations.
Well-draining soil is essential. While it can tolerate a variety of soil types, a slightly acidic to neutral pH is preferred.
‘Flat Freddy’ is excellent for ground cover due to its low and spreading growth habit. It is known for its tolerance to coastal conditions, making it a great choice for gardens near the ocean.
