Coprosma acerosa Hawera Sand coprosma

This native coprosma is a versatile ground cover plant with compact tight bright green foliage with pale brown branches. Small white fruit eaten by native skinks. Coprosma ‘Hawera’ is well-suited for New Zealand’s coastal regions, as it can tolerate salt spray and windy conditions.

Will develop into a ground hugging mat out 20 to 50cm high and up to 1m wide.

It will grow well on poor quality soils and will survive in sunny warm coastal locations or (light) frosty gardens.

Plants supplied are in 12cm wide pots and average two years in age.
