Description
Hoheria lyallii is a medium to large evergreen tree, reaching heights of 4 to 6 meters when fully grown, It typically has a slender and upright growth habit. The leaves are glossy, dark green, and slightly serrated, giving the tree an attractive appearance. Small, white, star-shaped flowers bloom in profusion during late spring to early summer, creating a visually appealing display.
Hoheria lyallii is native to New Zealand and is found in a variety of habitats, including forests and riverbanks.
Prefers moist sites, so not suitable for drought prone locations. OK in full sun or partial shade; it is cold hardy.
Due to its upright growth habit, Hoheria lyallii can be used as a natural screen or hedge to provide privacy in gardens. or as a windbreak in areas with strong winds.
Plants supplied are in 5cm pots and average 1- 2 years in age.
